JOSHUA HEKMATJAH, MD

Dr. Hekmatjah, a native of Los Angeles, earned his undergraduate degree with Latin honors from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. 

While in medical school, Dr. Hekmatjah completed a one-year research fellowship in inflammatory skin diseases under the mentorship of April W. Armstrong, M.D., MPH, with an emphasis on clinical trials for psoriasis and atopic dermatitis, two chronic skin conditions that are characterized by itchy, inflamed skin.


He completed his dermatology residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), where he served as Chief Resident for Grand Rounds and Cosmetics. In this leadership role, he coordinated and led educational presentations by nationally recognized dermatologists and oversaw procedural training in cosmetic dermatology.


Dr. Hekmatjah has authored research on various dermatologic conditions, including acne and hidradenitis suppurativa, underscoring his dedication to clinical excellence and evidence-based patient care. With extensive training and experience in dermatology, Dr. Hekmatjah remains committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to the Greater Los Angeles community.
