Melissa Camouse, DO

Dr. Melissa Camouse is a board-certified dermatologist who provides comprehensive care of the skin to patients of all ages. She received her dermatologic training from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to her residency training, she also completed a research fellowship in cutaneous photobiology at Case Western. There, she focused on the effects of ultraviolet radiation on human skin. Dr. Melissa Camouse is a board-certified dermatologist who provides comprehensive care of the skin to patients of all ages. She received her dermatologic training from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to her residency training, she also completed a research fellowship in cutaneous photobiology at Case Western. There, she focused on the effects of ultraviolet radiation on human skin. She published numerous articles on this subject and researched topical antioxidant serums and sunscreens in conjunction with Neutrogena, Estée Lauder, Clinique, and Origins. Her expertise in these areas has proved to be a valuable asset to practicing dermatology in sunny southern California.

Dr. Camouse is thrilled to be collaborating with her highly respected colleagues at El Segundo Dermatology. She resides in the South Bay with her husband, Dr. Ke, and three children. A native Midwesterner, Dr. Camouse enjoys the year-round temperate weather and promotes healthy sun habits to protect the skin without compromising a healthy outdoor lifestyle. She is passionate about skin cancer prevention and early detection through patient education and regular skin exams.

Jill Javahery, MD

Jill Javahery is a board-certified dermatologist. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine and then went on to do an Internal Medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center. Following her internship, she completed her Dermatology residency in New York at SUNY Downstate. Recently, Dr. Javahery joined the teaching staff at UCI and loves to mentor young residents...

Jill Javahery is a board-certified dermatologist. She graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine and then went on to do an Internal Medicine internship at Beth Israel Medical Center. Following her internship, she completed her Dermatology residency in New York at SUNY Downstate. Recently, Dr. Javahery joined the teaching staff at UCI and loves to mentor young residents.

Dr. Javahery's practice encompasses adult, pediatric, surgical and cosmetic dermatology and the use of lasers for both medical and cosmetic purposes. She is passionate in her advocacy for the awareness of the dangers of skin cancer and the relative ease of treatment when diagnosed early.

Although Dr. Javahery's primary focus remains on the treatment of diseases of the skin, she also realizes the value in maintaining and improving healthy skin. She utilizes all the modern technologies including fillers, collagen stimulators and lasers to achieve the optimal results for her patients. She tailors her approach to meet each individual patient's needs.

Dr. Jill Javahery is married to Dr. Ramin Javahery, a pediatric neurosurgeon. Together, they have three sons. Dr. Javahery is thrilled to be a part of the South Bay's newest dermatology practice!

Ashley Magovern, MD

Ashley Magovern is a board-certified dermatologist who earned her M.D. from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She completed her medical internship at Stanford University, and her dermatology residency at the University of Illinois, Chicago, where she was elected to serve as chief resident. She spent two years in the dermatology department at UC San Francisco conducting skin research, and completed a one-year fellowship at Children's Memorial Hospital...

Before opening her other private practice in Manhattan Beach, CA, she worked alongside world-renowned dermatologist Howard Murad at the Murad Inclusive Health Medical Group. Dr. Magovern is also the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles.

In addition to treating her Manhattan Dermatology patients with skill and a smile, Dr. Magovern is thrilled to serve as the medical director of DermStore.com, where she uses her exceptional knowledge of skin care products to help people choose their perfect, personal skin care regimen. She regularly contributes to online articles, gives insight into skin conditions, and provides comprehensive, non-biased reviews. Deeply passionate about skin care, Dr. Magovern's ultimate goal is to help you feel confident in your skin.

Raised right here in El Segundo, Dr. Magovern had always dreamed of serving the skin care needs of her very own community. Today she lives in the South Bay with her husband, an orthopaedic surgeon whom she met in medical school, and her two daughters.

Malcolm Ke, MD

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Ke received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his internship in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco East Bay Program. Prior to starting his dermatology residency, he received a National Institutes of Health Research Scientist Award to study cutaneous lymphoma and photodynamic therapy at Case Western Reserve University, where he completed research fellowships...

Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Ke received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School and completed his internship in general surgery at the University of California, San Francisco East Bay Program. Prior to starting his dermatology residency, he received a National Institutes of Health Research Scientist Award to study cutaneous lymphoma and photodynamic therapy at Case Western Reserve University, where he completed research fellowships in both Investigative and Molecular Dermatology as well as Cutaneous Oncology with an emphasis in melanoma and lymphoma. He then completed his dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University. A Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Ke also completed a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Lasers, and Cosmetic Dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a Fellow in the American College of Mohs Surgery and performs over 1500 cases annually.

Before moving back to California, Dr. Ke served as the Director of the Skin Surgery, Laser, and Aesthetic Center of Case Western Reserve University. Currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Ke enjoys volunteering at the VA teaching the principles of Mohs surgery and advanced facial reconstruction to the dermatology residents and fellows.

Dr. Ke also serves on several scientific advisory boards for new cancer and laser therapies and on the editorial board for Dermatologic Surgery, the official publication for the American College of Mohs Surgery, and the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, the official publication of the International Society of Cutaneous and Laser Surgery.

Dr. Ke resides in the south bay with his wife, Dr. Camouse, and their three children. He enjoys spending quality time with his family including going to the beach, playing tennis, golf, and guitar, and enjoying good food!

Courtney Phillips

Courtney Phillips, MD

Dr. Courtney Phillips received her medical degree and completed her dermatology residency at University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine.

She was awarded the Madeline Boccuzzi Award for excellence in Dermatology and served as Chief Resident during her final year. Dr. Phillips has extensive training in general, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology as well as dermatologic surgery. She has a particular interest in acne, psoriasis, skin cancer screenings and comsetic dermatology.

A new resident of Manhattan Beach, Dr. Phillips enjoys running on the strand, boxing or cycling in the front row at Soul Cycle.

Dr. Miesha Merati

Miesha Merati, DO

Dr. Miesha Merati is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermoscopy expert, specialized in the early detection of melanoma and nonmelanoma skin cancers. After finishing her undergraduate studies at University of Michigan, and medical school at Michigan State University, she completed her dermatology residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

During residency, she served two chief resident roles, as well as leadership positions on medical education, medical device and cosmeceutical scientific advisory boards. She trained under and is actively engaged in research and clinical trials with internationally-acclaimed leaders in general and cosmetic dermatology. Dr. Merati published in numerous textbook chapters, peer-reviewed scientific studies, and presented at multiple national dermatology conferences. Her publications are in journals such as the Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology, among others. During training, she received several research as well as outstanding presentation awards. She also serves active roles on committees within the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

After residency, Dr. Merati spent two years at the largest cosmetic practice in Northeast Ohio, where she had ample opportunity to apply her love for creativity and unique training to provide superior medical and cosmetic dermatologic care. She also stayed active within the community by engaging in charity skin cancer screenings and mentoring medical students and resident physicians.

When not in the office, Dr. Merati enjoys sketching, acrylic painting, photography, traveling, and spending time with her family and her pets. She is fluent in Farsi and especially enjoys both cooking and eating Persian cuisine. Her rigorous training, artistic eye, diverse experiences, and caring demeanor contribute to the exceptional and ethical care she provides to her patients. Dr. Merati truly considers it a privilege to build meaningful and lasting relationships with her patients, and serve the people of Los Angeles.

Eve Katzen

Eve Katzen, PA

Eve Katzen has been working as a Physician Assistant since 2003. She is originally from New York and graduated Valedictorian from the Wagner College/ Staten Island University Hospital Program.

Eve Katzen has been working as a Physician Assistant since 2003. She is originally from New York and graduated Valedictorian from the Wagner College/ Staten Island University Hospital Program. Eve has extensive experience in Pediatric and Adult Emergency Medicine, Urgent and Primary Care in addition to Medical, Cosmetic and Surgical Dermatology. In June 2013, Eve completed the SDPA residency program and was named as a Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants Diplomat. This is the highest honor that can be awarded to a Physician Assistant in the field of Dermatology. Eve has strong interests in skin cancer screening and prevention, treatment of viral dermatoses and cosmetics.

Eve recently relocated to Los Angeles from Phoenix, Arizona. She is thrilled to be joining the El Segundo Dermatology Team. When Eve is not in the office she loves traveling and dancing Argentine tango.

Zachary Johnson

Zachary Johnson, MSPAS, PA-C

Zachary Johnson MSPAS, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant born and raised in Bloomington, IL. He graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Biological Sciences. While at Illinois State, Zachary excelled in both academics and athletics as a team captain and all-conference Division 1 third baseman.

While at Illinois State, Zachary excelled in both academics and athletics as a team captain and all-conference Division 1 third baseman.

After graduation, Zachary performed research at Northwestern’s prestigious Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Core Flow Cytometry Laboratory, with a focus in myeloid cell differentiation. He was published alongside his colleagues in Leukemia Research. Following completion of his research, Zachary worked as a certified medical assistant at Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute in Bloomington, IL, where his passion for Dermatology began.

Zachary graduated with his Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Kentucky with a 4.0 GPA. He is trained in all areas of medicine, with an emphasis in Dermatology. He enjoys treating patients of all ages with kindness, empathy and compassion. Zachary takes pride in creating an individualized treatment plan for each patient and is a proponent of shared decision making.

Zachary is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), California Academy of Physician Assistants (CAPA), and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA).

In his free time, Zachary enjoys spending time at the beach, spending time with family and friends, and staying active in beautiful Southern California.
