Voluma is the first dermal filler that lifts and sculpts the face, rather than simply filling lines. This filler is our favorite for achieving a “liquid face lift” and the results can last twice as long as other dermal fillers. Voluma is a fast and effective procedure that results in little to no downtime. For more information, click here .

Hate your double chin? CoolSculpting recently launched a new applicator, called the coolmini, that can kill the fat cells in the chin/neck region, without surgery or downtime. The double chin is a particularly stubborn pocket of fat that is often inherited and cannot be modified with diet or exercise. Until now, the only way to eliminate it was through surgery or liposuction. The coolmini is a breakthrough in facial contouring and we are pleased to offer this treatment to our patients. This applicator can also be used on other small pockets of fat like the underarms or knees. Optimal results can be achieved in as little as two treatments. Read more about CoolSculpting here .

Specifically, milk and processed carbohydrates, which have a high glycemic index and cause spikes in insulin, have been associated with worse acne. Eating a diet with a low glycemic index including fruits, vegetables and whole grains and decreasing milk intake can be helpful dietary adjuncts to treating your acne! See the list here.

Modern day photodynamic therapy, or PDT, as we call it, is a highly effective therapy that has been in use for the past forty years. PDT is a great way to treat an entire area of sun damage and target precancerous lesions that can lead to skin cancer. While we use this modality most often to treat pre-cancers, it is also an effective treatment for acne allowing a patient to avoid systemic medications. For more information, click here.

Have you ever stopped to consider that there is skin under the hair on your scalp?
